View from the Point paintings by Mauricia Gandara
March 24 through May 28323 Gallery is proud to announce the opening of an exhibition of new paintings by Mauricia Gandara, created during her current residency at the Hunters Point Shipyard, a program of the Shipyard Trust for the Arts (STAR).
Trained in Sao Paulo Brazil and Florence Italy, Mauricia has been living and developing her art in San Francisco for the last 15 years. Her paintings reflect landscapes of nature and cities, infused with dreams and memories of her rich past, often inhabited by elusive characters engaged in their surroundings. Her recent work is inspired by her prestigious view from the Point and the surrounding area, with her unique visions transposed onto familiar landscapes.
Mauricia's work is found in the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC, in city halls and hospitals in Brazil, and in various private collections. She has participated in numerous art exhibits in Brazil, Italy, China and the United States.
